The visit was for Dr. Okrah to introduce himself and his deputy to the Regional Minister as well as establish a cordial working relationship with him.

The TCDA was established by an Act of Parliament to regulate and develop the production, processing, and trading of tree crops such as cashew, shea, mango, coconut, rubber among others.

Dr. Okrah, speaking during the visit, emphasised on the Authority's commitment to ensuring the productive use of the region’s tree crops to boost the local economy and improve the livelihoods of farmers and communities engaged in cultivation.

He highlighted some of the challenges facing the Authority including bushfires, and said it had far-reaching environmental consequences.

Mr. John welcomed the delegation and highlighted the region's rich tree crop resources, particularly shea trees, which served as a vital source of income for local communities.

He noted that women, who collected shea nuts, often faced unfavourable market conditions and urged Dr Okrah to implement measures to address the issue.

The Minister pledged his full support for the Authority’s activities acknowledging its essential role in regulating the production, processing, and trading of tree crops.
