The event brought together a cross-section of the community, including Chief of Zongo, Deputy Municipal Chief Imam, the Member of Parliament for Akim Oda Constituency, Executives of Political Parties, Clergy and distinguished Head of departments, among others

The day was marked by a spirit of deep reverence, national reflection and heartfelt thanksgiving to God for His continued guidance and protection over our nation and municipality. It was a unifying moment where faith-based leaders, public servants and community members joined hearts and voices in prayer for the peace, progress and prosperity of Ghana.

Clergy from various denominations led the congregation in intercessory prayers for national leadership, good governance, economic recovery, the youth and social cohesion. Scripture readings and hymns echoed the collective hope of the people for divine direction in confronting the country’s challenges and building a stronger future.

I had the privilege of conveying the heartfelt message of the President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, to the good people of our municipality, highlighting the significance of observing this important day in our nation’s history while stressing the need to Reset, Reflect and Renew ourselves in pursuit of national development.

The Member of Parliament in his speech, reaffirmed the importance of national prayer and underscored the role of faith in shaping responsible leadership and accountable governance.

The event further served as an opportunity for stakeholders across political, religious and professional lines to demonstrate solidarity in seeking God’s favor for the nation.

As the first of its kind in the municipality, this historic gathering set a positive precedent for future observances. It is our collective hope that the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Day will continue to inspire spiritual renewal, civic responsibility and national unity in the years ahead.
