GETFund supports construction of 12-unit dormitory block
On September 16, 2025, the Birim Central Municipal Assembly submitted an official request to the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) for financial support toward the completion of selected infrastructural projects in Senior High Schools across the Municipality.

On Friday, January 23, 2026, the Municipal Chief Executive, Solomon Brako Kusi, participated in the official handing over of the project site at St. Francis Senior High/Technical School for the construction and completion of a two-storey, 12-unit dormitory block.
The project site was formally handed over by Akito Consults, the consulting firm, to Piwak Construction and Real Estate Limited, the contractor, paving the way for the commencement of construction works.
The handing-over ceremony was attended by the Headmaster and staff of the school, the Municipal Education Director, Municipal Coordinating Director, Municipal Works Engineer, Assembly staff, and other key stakeholders.
In his remarks, Mr. Brako Kusi emphasized the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of the project. He urged the contractor to strictly adhere to approved specifications, timelines, and safety standards, while delivering quality work that meets the expectations of the people and relevant educational authorities.
The project represents a significant milestone toward improving teaching and learning conditions at St. Francis Senior High/Technical School and aligns with the Municipality’s broader vision of enhancing educational outcomes through improved infrastructure.
The Municipal Assembly expresses its sincere appreciation to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana and the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) for their visionary leadership and continued support.
