The two-day workshop for OTC medicine sellers was held at the Bosatsu hotel in Dambai, facilitated by Ms. Veronica Kaka, Oti Regional Public Health Officer and Madam Juliet Akorlie, Krachi East Municipal Public Health Officer.
The training, which covered various aspects of family planning, including counseling techniques, contraceptive methods, and referral protocols, aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of OTC sellers in providing quality family planning services and managing data effectively.
The participants were expected to gain valuable insights into providing client-centered care and navigating complex family planning needs.
Some participants who spoke to the media included Mr. Mark Nilimor and Madam Gladys Komashie, expressed appreciation for the training, stating that it had broadened their understanding of family planning and equipped them with the skills to support clients effectively.
They said empowering OTC sellers from the three selected Municipal and District Assemblies in the Region will contribute to improved health outcomes and increased access to family planning information and services in the area.
The training is expected to improve access to family planning services in the region, particularly in rural and hard-to-reach areas where OTC sellers play a vital role in healthcare delivery.
