MCE, Nananom, and Otumfour Foundation break ground for 600-bed girls' dormitory

The Municipal Chief Executive for Sefwi Wiawso Louis Owusu – Agyepong has joined forces with the traditional leaders (Nananom) and representatives of the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Foundation to perform the symbolic sod cutting for the construction of a new girls' dormitory (600-Bed) at Sefwi Wiawso Senior High School.

This effort aims to address the need for enhanced educational infrastructure and empower young girls in the Municipality.

The event marked the official commencement of the construction project with the cutting of the sod by the Leader of Otumfuo Foundation (Professor Oheneba Boachie-Adjei), accompanied by Katakyie Kwasi Bumangama II (Omanhene of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area and Hon. Louis Owusu – Agyepong (MCE Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly).

The MCE, and other dignitaries including the Omanhene emphasized the significance of collaborative efforts between Government and philanthropic organizations in driving positive change. The project represents a shared commitment to investing in the future of young people and promoting access to quality education for all.

Representatives from the Otumfuo Foundation led by Prof. Nana Oheneba Boakye Adjei highlighted their commitment to supporting educational initiatives that align with their mission of empowering communities through education.

Professor Oheneba Boachie-Adjei reiterated that the foundation is the sole financier of this particular project. This exclusive funding underscores the foundation's comprehensive dedication to advancing quality education across diverse levels in the country.

The Headmaster and his entire staff expressed their anticipation and gratitude for the upcoming infrastructure project.

The new girls' dormitory is expected to address accommodation challenges, particularly for female students, and create an atmosphere that fosters academic excellence and personal development.
