Kintampo Municipal Hospital Light Wave Health Information System Management (LHIMS) Down

The Kintampo Municipal Hospital for about three (3) days now have not been able to generate Claim Check Codes (CCC) through the direct integration method to enable patients get health care services at the Municipal Hospital.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Mr. Isaac Donkor with some staff from the assembly visited the Kintampo Municipal Hospital administration to see the way forward in resolving the issues.

Information got was that, the issue was a nationwide problem affecting all health care providers in the country for the past three days and it cannot be solved locally unless at the national level, according to the Municipal Hospital Human Resources Officer Madam Nancy Boateng, adding that only emergencies cases are taken care of with clients that can pay for the service.

Meeting with the Municipal Health Insurance District Manager Mr. Anthony Kudjo Asuo informed the MCE and his team that, the Municipal Hospital was supposed to use a special mobile sim card given to them to generate the Claim Check Codes (CCC) which was communicated to them a day before our visit on their group platform.

And that, a temporal work around, affected healthcare providers can use the code *842# to input same in their Health Management Information system (HMIS) application”. He also added that, “they were informed that, “providers should use the Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) platform to generate Claim Check Codes (CCC). The USSD channel was fully operational and can be used without distraction”.

According to Mr. Num Abraham they were at the Municipal Hospital this morning to access how far situation was just to be told that the special mobile sim card given to them for accessing claims was deactivated due to it not being in use for some months now and it needed to be activated every month to enable it work. And administrators were not around as at the time visited.

A visit to other private Health Care provider’s facilities in the municipality saw health care delivery on going well with the mobile special sim card given to them for the generation of claim check codes (CCC) for clients.
