The Saboba District has undertaken various SOCO projects including infrastructure development initiatives such as the construction of a six-unit model girls’ school at Hilltop and the completion of a maternity ward with consulting rooms at Demong.
Market stores are also being constructed, and market sheds have been renovated at the Saboba market.
In terms of water and sanitation, the district is drilling boreholes fitted with handpumps or solar-powered pumps and constructing limited mechanised water systems.
There are also community development projects including the renovation of community centres and offices.
Mr. Bilimor said the projects were to enhance the district's infrastructure, improve access to clean water, and support community development as well as enhance livelihoods, strengthen the local economy, and improve infrastructure in the area.
He was encouraged by the progress made so far and expressed the hope that the projects would be completed on schedule for use.
He emphasized that “Upon completion, they will significantly ease the burdens faced by our people and enhance the quality of life in these communities.”
SOCO projects are initiatives aimed at addressing social cohesion and development challenges in the northern parts of the country.
