A new concrete footbridge, connecting the Zongo and Low Cost communities, was recently completed at a cost of GHC45, 000.00
The Assemblyman personally contributed GHC20,000, with the remaining funds raised through the support of friends.
The previous wooden structure was inadequate, impassable during rainy seasons due to flooding and unsuitable for vehicular traffic. The new bridge significantly improves accessibility and ease travel between the two communities.
In addition to the bridge, Mr. Issifu spearheaded the renovation of a dilapidated 10-seater water closet in the Low Cost area. This GHC 9,000 project was funded personally by the Assemblyman, supplemented by 20 bags of cement donated by the Member of Parliament Samuel Atta Mills.
However, challenges still remain as Mr. Issifu highlighted the need for a community center, a CHPS compound, and the reopening of the community library, which was built by Papa Kwesi Nduom but is currently closed due to roof damage.
He appealed to the government for support, emphasizing the financial burden often borne by Assembly members who utilize their personal funds to address immediate community needs.
