The MP who doubles as the Bono-East regional minister made the call when he together with the Atebubu-Amantin municipal assembly presented a total of 120 veronica buckets for distribution to communities and institutions in the municipality.
He said although the government is doing all in its power to fight the disease, it will take the support of the private sector and other individuals to win the battle against the pandemic.
Mr. Amoakohene praised the local media and health personnel for the high levels of awareness they have created on COVID-19 in the municipality.
He said the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development will soon make more of the handwashing facilities available to the municipality while he on his own is arranging with Kasapreko Company Limited to acquire hand sanitizers for his constituency all in an effort to forestall any potential problems that could be posed by the disease.
The MP urged all to report suspected COVID-19 cases to the relevant health authorities for immediate action.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Edward Owusu spelt out a list of beneficiaries which include: health facilities, markets, government departments, and selected communities.
He said further to existing measures on the ground to fight the disease, the assembly will mount checks at the Bresuano barrier which borders the Ejura-Sekyedumase municipality in the Ashanti region where all persons entering the Atebubu-Amantin municipality will have their temperatures were taken and appropriate action taken in case of any suspicion.
This, the MCE hoped will reduce the potential of possible importation of the disease into the municipality.
