ATEBUBU: Five constituencies receive ambulances

Five constituencies in the Bono East region have received ambulances under the ‘one million dollars per constituency’ initiative of government at a short ceremony in Atebubu.

The constituencies namely: Atebubu-Amantin, Pru east, Pru West, Sene East and Sene west each took away a Mercedes Benz sprinter brand facility which cost $133,000.00 each.

Welcoming the gathering, the Atebubu-Amantin municipal chief executive Hon. Edward Owusu said the presentations amounted to government matching its words with deeds adding that four more years for the New Patriotic Party government will see accelerated development of the country.

The Head of the National Ambulance Service in the region Mr. Michael Kwasi Boadu who described the ambulances as state-of-the-art promised that his outfit will put the facilities to the best possible use for the benefit of the region and called for the support of relevant stakeholders for efficient service delivery.



Making the presentations, the Bono east regional minister Hon. Kofi Amoakohene who also doubles as Member of Parliament for the Atebubu-Amantin constituency said the past National Democratic Congress NDC government imported a few near-empty ambulances at a cost of 500,000 euros each saying that government has been financially very prudent in the acquisition of the ambulances.

He said the facility comes with a comprehensive insurance cover and a two-year service policy.

Present was the district chief executive for Sene east Hon. Abraham Mbanye, staff from the health directorates of the affected districts traditional authorities and party functionaries.

The function was co-chaired by the ‘Kyidomhenes’ of the Atebubu and Amantin traditional areas Nana Osei Gyan Ababio II and Nana Anim Dabo II.
