The engagements followed a series of stakeholder meetings, during which the Metropolitan Chief Executive Ebi Bright and her team paid working visits to MPS, Pioneer Food Cannery Ltd. and Multi Pac Ltd.

The visits were aimed at building a sustainable working relationship between the Assembly and industries operating within the metropolis, while identifying challenges affecting businesses and residents.

According to the Mayor, one of the major issues discussed during the engagements was the poor state of some road networks within the metropolis, as well as the parking of trucks on road shoulders, which stakeholders said affects traffic flow and service delivery.

Ebi Bright also raised concerns about what she described as weak Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) relationships between the Assembly and organisations operating within Tema.

She noted that stronger partnerships between industry and the Assembly were necessary to ensure that communities hosting industrial activities benefit meaningfully from the presence of these companies.

According to her, the Assembly has a responsibility to facilitate partnerships that can translate industrial activities into tangible development for residents of Tema.

The Mayor further assured industry stakeholders that the TMA was taking steps to address major challenges relating to road infrastructure, sewage, security, nuisance, regulatory compliance and other utility services within the metropolis.

She said the measures were intended to improve service delivery for both residents and businesses while creating a more conducive environment for industrial operations.

The engagements, she added, form part of broader efforts to strengthen Tema's position as an industrial and port city and enhance its representation on the global stage.
