A ceremony which was held at the forecourt of the Community-Based Health Planning Services (CHPS) compound at Akplorfudzi welcomed chiefs, elders, and people of Akplofudzi and its environs as well as friends from the media fraternity.

Torgbui Egli Apevnya III Dufia of Akplorfudzi in his welcoming address thanked the Hon. District Chief Executive and the Akuffo-Addo led government for the massive development being undertaken in the District. He also used the opportunity to thank the Former and present Assembly Members of the Adzato Electoral Area for starting this great initiative, which will become of immense benefit to the people of Akplofudzi and its surrounding communities. He said the CHPS compound will contribute immensely to the saving of lives of the people of Akplorfudzi and its environs. He added, the CHPS compound will be very helpful to the pregnant and expecting mothers, children and the aged who have to access healthcare in far communities. He was therefore excited about the wonderful edifice that his community has witnessed.

The District Health Director, in her introductory address, used the opportunity to commend the leadership of Akplorfudzi community through Hon. Honey Ocloo, who was very instrumental in making this zone functional. The efforts of the District Assembly through Hon. Seth Yormewu and his team were highly recognized for their support and leadership. She further commended the efforts of the CHPS coordinator of Keta Municipal and the CHPS coordinator for Anloga Miss Esther Amesawu for playing a pivotal role in making this dream a reality. She further said, the CHPS compound which is a community-based healthcare facility requires collective efforts from inhabitants of the community and therefore urged them to own, maintain and patronize the facility in order to ensure access to basic healthcare services and promote good and healthy living in the area.

The Hon. District Chief Executive in his address expressed his satisfaction with the presence of the health facility in the community. He said the CHPS compound formed part of the contribution to improving access to basic quality healthcare in various communities within the District. He again said the facility will serve as a first aid for attending to basic health problems.

Further in his speech, he hinted at the government’s intention of developing the Anloga District hospital, which will serve and improve access to basic health care delivery in Anloga. This he said was a passionate contribution by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo’s NPP lead government to the people of Anloga.

In his Closing remarks, he entreated the people of Akplorfudzi and Anloga District as a whole to continue adhering to Covid-19 safety protocols since it is the only way to preventing the spread of the Deadly Virus.
