22-seater toilet facility for Agormanya South Electoral Area

The Lower Manya Krobo Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Simon Kwaku Tetteh has constructed and handed over a 22-seater toilet facility for the chiefs and people of the Agormanya South Electoral Area within Lower Manya Krobo in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

In a brief address, the MCE said he has so far constructed 13 separate toilet facilities in several communities since his tenure in office. He added that though the communities had toilet facilities, they were in a dilapidated state which can even be a death trap. But since he has sanitation at heart, he took the opportunity to collapse the old ones and reconstructed new ones for them to use in their comfort.

Some of the communities mentioned are Ogometakpon, Salem, Akuse Zongo, Nuaso Presby School, Kormenya, Kpowunuakwenor, and Yokonya among others. He indicated that there are other toilet facilities that need to be renovated which they have made plans to do, adding that the project started in 2020 and it is under the 1 million per constituency fund.

He added that open defecation is not an issue in the Municipality since he embarked on these projects, adding that sanitation situation within the municipality is being approached in a way that would involve all and sundry to help clean their vicinities for a clean municipality.

The MCE further encouraged the people to take care of the project by cultivating the habit of maintenance culture in order to keep the facilities in a good state.
