This is according to the Municipal Chief Executive, Eric Tetteh in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com when he revealed that the Sikaben to Ehiamankyre road for example is being worked on with a contract soon to be signed for construction to commence.
This road will connect the Yilo Krobo Municipality to the Fanteakwa South District; and asserts that there are a number of communities along that stretch hence the road improvement would be to the benefit of all of them.
The MCE stated that the roads from Nkruakain to Somanya, Asesewa to Koforidua have contractors working on them, while roads in the Mount Mary's College of Education are being tarred, same with Yilo Krobo SHS.
The MCE who admitted that poor road infrastructure remains a major challenge to people in the municipality said their condition is so because of the vast nature of the municipality.
With 248 communities, only 72 are in Somanya while the rest are in the upper part of the municipality.
The Municipality shares boundaries with eight assemblies, thus there is so much to do in terms of road improvement.
He, however, assured that the Assembly has been investing a lot to reshape the roads and make them motorable for the people, and in recent times the Agogo road, Akpo-Akwamu road, Wawanya road, among others have all been given some attention even in the midst of the continuous rain.
