90 girls participate in ‘Girls'-In- ICT’ programme

The District Chief Executive for Kintampo South, Mr Opoku together with the Member of Parliament for the area, Alexander Gyan, has visited some 90 female basic school pupils who are taking part in the government’s Girls'-in- ICT programme in the district.

The Girls’-in-ICT is a flagship programme of the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation (MoCD) and Ghana-India Kofi Annan Center of Excellence in ICT which seeks to address the gap between males and females in technology and digitalization platforms.

The Girls in ICT is an initiative of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).


Speaking in an interview with the media, the MCE stated that the visit was to interact and also encourage participants to be passionate and committed to what is being taught to ensure the successful implementation of the project in the district.

He again charged them to learn hard to come out first in the upcoming regional contest in Techiman.

He entreated participants to put in their best in order to become the future IT experts.
