The directive came during the Minister's tour of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to assess their performance, particularly regarding the utilisation of their share of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF).

Mr. Ibrahim instructed the Assembly to mobilise resources from their Internally Generated Fund (IGF) to contact all 400 persons currently listed on the disability register.

"Let the 12 Assembly Members and the information van make announcements. Persons living with disabilities within this vicinity should be validated and updated, and those whose names are not currently in the album should be added," the Minister stated.

The Minister's directive outlines a five-point action plan for the Assembly:
1. Mobilise resources by allocating IGF funds as directed and setting a two-week timeline for completion.
2. Conduct phone outreach to each of the 400 listed persons to confirm identity, contact details, and current needs.
3. Broadcast community announcements using the information van and Assembly Members to disseminate times and locations for validation.
4. Hold on-site verification stations where residents can present themselves to be added or updated in the album.
5. Maintain proper record-keeping to ensure updated entries are captured in both the official album and any digital register used by the Assembly.

Call to Action for Residents

Persons with disabilities who believe they should be on the Krowor register but are not currently listed are advised to contact the Municipal Assembly when announcements are made or speak with a local Assembly Member.

Residents are encouraged to bring identification and any supporting information to facilitate their inclusion in the updated album.

The Minister's tour is part of ongoing efforts to ensure that MMDAs effectively utilise their share of the DACF to support vulnerable populations and improve service delivery at the local level.
