Prestea Huni-Valley MCE Commends Damang Mine After Successful Restoration of Aboso-Bompieso-Damang Road

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality, Hon. Matthew Ayeh, has announced the full reopening of the critical Aboso-Bompieso-Damang road following two continuous days of intensive repair works after a section of the road caved in.

According to the MCE, a joint inspection visit conducted at approximately 10:00 a.m. with Chief Inspector Amoakoh confirmed that the damaged section had been successfully repaired, restoring full access to motorists and commuters using the route.

Hon. Matthew Ayeh expressed satisfaction with the swift intervention, noting that the restoration of the road would significantly ease transportation challenges and ensure the uninterrupted movement of people, goods, and services within the municipality.

On behalf of the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipal Assembly, the MCE extended profound appreciation to the management of Damang Gold Mine Limited, particularly the technical and operational teams who worked tirelessly around the clock to restore the road within a short period.

He commended the dedication and commitment demonstrated by the company and its personnel, describing their intervention as a strong example of effective collaboration between the private sector and local government in addressing emergency infrastructure challenges.

The successful restoration of the Aboso-Bompieso-Damang road is expected to improve mobility, enhance economic activities, and bring relief to residents and commuters who depend heavily on the route for their daily activities.
