He said this is the way to achieve accelerated socio-economic development.
The presence of the military, most especially at strategic locations of the Central Business District (CBD), had been critical to ward off recalcitrant traders from trading on the pavements, following re-opening of the Kejetia roads, he observed.
The KMA Boss pointed out that the Assembly would continue to count on the military for assistance as the city authorities strive to achieve the development aspirations of the people.
He was interacting with the Central Command of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) during a courtesy call on him at his office in Kumasi.
Brigadier-General Cosmos Alhassan, the out-going General Officer Commanding (GOC) the Central command, led the delegation.
Accompanying him was Brigadier-General Joe Aphour, the in-coming GOC.
The MCE said the Assembly was of the conviction that without discipline, it would be virtually impossible for the authorities to execute laid-down bye-laws.
He was grateful to the out-going GOC for his support, saying, the Assembly and the military were partners in development.
Brigadier-General Alhassan said the call was to officially notify the KMA about the end of his tenure as the GOC, saying the military would always respond swiftly whenever called upon to assist in enforcing the law.
