Atwima-Nwabiagya District inaugurates school block

A six-classroom block built for the Bokankye basic school in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District at a cost of GH¢117,987.25 has been inaugurated.

It was financed through the Ghana Education Trust (GETFund).

Nana Asare Bediako, the District Chief Executive (DCE), who performed the ceremony, said every effort would be made to create the right environment for effective teaching and learning in the school and the area.

The district he said would ensure that there were enough classrooms, books and other learning materials.

The DCE assured the people that the school would benefit from the Government's School Feeding Programme.

He reminded the community to keep the structure always in good shape through regular maintenance.

He advised them to plant trees in the school to serve as wind break. Mr Asabere Yeboah, the assembly member for the area, appealed to parents to place priority on education and urged them not to only put their children in schools, but also go the extra mile to provide for their educational and basic needs.

Mr Ohene Kwaku Appau Ansah, the District’s Basic Schools Coordinator, called for closer cooperation between teachers and parents for the proper development of the children.
