The facility is expected to lighten the infrastructural burden of the school and will eliminate the current inadequate class space in the school, as more than 85 pupils are allowed in a class room.
The total cost of the construction is Four Hundred and Ninety-six Thousand Cedis (?496.000.00) from the District’s share of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND).
Speaking at the handing over ceremony, the District Chief Executive Hon. Catherine Lankono used the occasion and appealed to the school authority to be more serious in the education of their children as education is one of the tools to development in any community in the country.
She admonished the community members to take very good care of the facility as the Government has plans to add more infrastructure to make teaching and learning attractive at every level of education in the District.
Acting Director of Education at the Nadowli Kaleo District Mr. Linus Gbireh thanked the Assembly for the facility and added that the Directorate was on track to providing the enabling environment for effective teaching and learning, and asked the students to put the facility to good use and maximize its benefits whilst maintaining it.
The headmaster of the school Mr. Dasah A. Vincent, whilst appreciating the DCE and the Assembly for the facility, revealed that the facility has come at the right time as they struggle to observe the Ghana Health Service and Ministry of Health protocols on COVID-19.
According to him, the current class size in the school is 85 pupils per class, which is a breach of the Covid-19 protocols of social distancing and the Ghana Education Service Standard of 45 pupils in a class.
