NKWATA S: Agriculture initiatives helping to revive agriculture sector - DCE
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Nkwanta South, Mr. John Thasun has hinted that the introduction of Planting for Food and Jobs by the government is helping to rebuild the declining growth of Ghana’s Agricultural Sector.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com ,the MCE stated that a clarion call has been placed on every Ghanaian to take up farming as a full time or part time activity adding that hundreds of thousands jobs will be created as many youths will be encouraged to take advantage of the attractive incentives involved in the campaign.
Mr. Thasun noted emphatically that 50 bags of maize seeds, 20 bags of rice seeds, 80 tin of tomato seeds, 10 tins of cabbage seeds and 20 tins of pepper seeds were been distributed to farmers at subsidized prices in the municipality.
According to him, 4,399 bags of NPK fertilizer and 3,699 bags of Urea are also in stock for sale to farmers at subsidized prices at Nkwanta South Municipal under the initiative to help reduce the cost of production on their farming activities.
