Bolgatanga gets more developments projects -MCE
The Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Epsona Ayamga has stated that the Municipality has enjoyed enormous development projects within the last two years.

He indicated that the massive infrastructural development for the Municipality was a clear manifestation of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Government's promise to get development projects to the people.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at the weekend, the MCE mentioned the construction of 70 schools in the Municipality and its surroundings including a 6-unit classroom block at Dulugu, 3-unit classroom at Dubila, 6-Class Unit Block at Apasenaba near Sumburungu, 6-unit classroom block at Atampurum also in Sumburungu, 3-Unit Classroom Block at Asoongo, 3-unit classroom block at Soe-Yepala, 3-unit classroom block at Yipala, 3-unit block at Yorogo Madina among others.
He indicated that this would help reduce drastically the numbers of "schools under trees" which was predominant in the Municipality and also make teaching and learning very easy.
In addition, he stated that 380 dual desks have been supplied to some basic schools and more are yet to come in addition to some free school uniforms and exercise books promised by President Evans Atta Mills.
Speaking on improved health facilities, Mr. Ayamga indicated that the Assembly through the support of the Member of Parliament's Common Fund, had put up a number of CHPS Compound and mentioned some of the communities as Katanga, Yarigabisi, Kumbosgo, Durigu, Yikine, Yorogo-Madina, Sokabisi communities.
On road network, Mr. Ayamga said a total number of about 246km has been reshaped and re-gravelled.
He mentioned the road leading to Estate Residential Area, Yorogo, Yikine, SSNIT Residential Area, Zobisi, Doctors bungalows Gorogo and Zaare as examples.
"The Assembly has opened up 21 kilometre roads, constructed 20 culverts at Yaragabisi, Sawaba, Bukeri, Soe, Zuarungu among others. Other areas include drainage system 4.9 kilometres, streetlights, 27km, tarring 4.4 km. "he indicated.
Mr. Ayamga mentioned other areas that had benefited from road construction as the Ministry Road, Commercial Road, ADB, Kotokoli line, and said more would be put up.
Under the Rural Electrification project, he said 42 communities have been earmarked and 30 boreholes also would be dug in some deprived communities.
He indicated that plans were far advanced to construct parking lots to de-congest the Municipality and said it has already been awarded to a company called "Omani Ghana"
He stated that he had served notices to those trading at the area earmarked for the parking lot to move or have their structures demolished to pave way for the project.
