Speaking at a Town Hall Meeting at Nkawkaw-Adoagyiri, Mr Yaw Owusu-Addo, the Municipal Chief Executive, said the introduction of the programme had seen massive improvement in the number of students who passed the BECE in the Municipality.

He said the Assembly decided to engage final year students preparing for the BECE to ensure their success through the help of professional teachers.

Mr Owusu-Addo said since the inception of the programme, the Municipality had recorded the highest results at the 2019 BECE at which 85.8 per cent passed as against 79.9 percent in 2017.

He said the programme had also helped to reduce immoral behaviours among the students, helping them to improve on their performances at the basic level.

Mr Owusu-Addo said the exercise was being carried out in some few selected communities and hinted of plans to extend it to other areas for more children to benefit.

He expressed satisfaction with how the students and parents had embraced the programme and advised parents to endeavour to provide the educational materials and other needs of their children to give them a sound mind to study.
