The objective behind the skills training programme is to empower young people by providing them with vocational skills so as they can explore employment opportunities, create their own businesses and help reduce youth unemployment in communities.

The beneficiaries were trained in soap making (liquid and Azumah blows), pastries and satellite dish installation.
Facilitators at the programme, who are already into their respective businesses, shared business and marketing strategies with trainees, especially on how to identify potential markets for their products in communities.

Samson Mawuli Gbolu, used the occasion to advise trainees to utilize the skills and knowledge acquired at the training to venture into small businesses. He underscored the fact that it is a challenge securing start-up capital for businesses.

He, however, indicated that one of the best strategies for overcoming the challenge associated with start-up capital is for the beneficiaries to form partnerships in raising startup capital for their businesses.

On behalf of the Bono East Regional Secretariat of the National Youth Authority, expressed our profound gratitude to OK Foundation for the partnership and funding support provided towards a successful implementation of the programme.
