Unfortunately, the Assembly again failed to achieve this feat after round of elections.
The race, which was a one-man show, could not secure the two-thirds simple majority after the Yes or No voting. Hon. Samuel Gyamfi, assembly member for Old Atwene, was, therefore, asked to step down for fresh nomination.
The Offinso North District Assembly has 37 Members including the DCE. However, the meeting witnessed 36 members due to the absence of MP.
Per the standing order of the Assembly, a candidate should obtain 2/3 of the House representing 25 valid votes.
At the end of the first round, Hon. Samuel Gyamfi polled 23 votes.
