Ayawaso N: MCE links allowances to improved local governance, urges tax compliance

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ayawaso North Hon. Haruna Awal Mohammed has underscored the significant impact of the allowances provided to Assembly Members, noting that this financial support has greatly motivated them and led to enhanced performance, particularly in the area of sanitation.

He stressed that such support will bolster local governance and called on Assembly Members to fully endorse the Government's development agenda.

The MCE also highlighted that the President has offered guidance on prioritizing the use of the district assembly's Common Fund, ensuring that no area is neglected.

Among the key projects slated for implementation this year are construction of mechanized boreholes to improve access to clean water, establishment of a 24-hour market to enhance local commerce, completion of the legacy project, which is the Ayawaso North Municipal Assembly office and others

Regarding revenue mobilization, he acknowledged that collections have not been encouraging since he took office. However, he assured that the Assembly will continue to implement sensitization programs to emphasize the importance of fulfilling tax obligations, which are crucial for supporting developmental projects in the municipality.

Furthermore,  Hon Awal encouraged all citizens, especially the residents of Ayawaso North Municipality, to join President Mahama in contributing to national development and the reset agenda aimed at building a better Ghana.
