He maintained that this is not occurring in a vacuum, but because of proper coordination between sound economic management at the monetary level and a deliberate fiscal prudence by the Bank of Ghana and the finance ministry over the last 10 months.
"That is difference between the NDC and the NPP. It is as a result of leadership" - a leadership that believes the little resources must be managed prudently to achieve the most impact.
The NDC, he noted, does not have a classmate in the NPP when it comes to good governance as they cannot match the NDC in any aspect.
The MP who was contributing to the debate on the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the government said, "I listened to the last Speaker in amusement. Certainly, I believe he should be a student of Walewale Adam Smith, otherwise, I don't understand why you had inflation of 54% and you claim farmers were buying fertilizer at a less cost. This can only happen in Walewale College where Walewale Adam Smith was the teacher", he jabbed at the Minority.
The Afadjato South Member of Parliament also contended that the NPP's narrative of building 150 functional factories cannot be economically factual when unemployed under their leadership rose from 5.2 to 13.6 percent.
Mr. Frank Afriyie also lauded the John Dramani Mahama government for resourcing Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) with the release of 80% of the DACF to them. This he noted is a departure from the previous practice where the Assemblies were starved of funds.
The huge releases to the Assemblies which is tied to projects attest to the government's commitment to accelerate development at the base to decongest Accra and other capitals, he emphasized.
He maintained that developing the Assemblies will help revitalize the economy at the base to unleash job opportunities and improve livelihoods of the people, thus helping to reduce rural - urban migration.
