The Association embarked on a nation-wide protest against the appointment of Mr. Samuel Adom Botchway as the Registrar of the Births and Deaths Registry.
However, residents of Kadjebi viewed this industrial action as unnecessary, as they continued to visit the departments under the Association for services without any staff to attend to them.
Mr. Gabriel Agbeli, a 34-year-old farmer, who visited the District’s Births and Deaths Registry to register for a birth certificate for his 10-year-old daughter, found no staff present, as the office was closed.
He expressed his disappointment stating that he had to travel to Kadjebi for the transaction.
Ms. Juliet Akoto, another resident, who came to the Environmental Health Directorate to lodge a complaint about stray animals destroying her cassava farm at Avornyo Kofe, also found no staff available to speak with, as the office was locked, and no staff were present.
She wondered why the government had failed to call the CLOGSAG Executives to the negotiation table to resolve the matter.
Ms. Akoto, therefore, appealed to the government to bring them to the table so that the members of the Association could resume work by Monday, March 3.
Mr. Thomas Boateng, a resident who came to the District Assembly to register his marriage, was frustrated when he found no one to talk to.
Mr. Boateng, described the Association’s strike as unproductive since a lot of revenue would be lost during this period.
He called for an amicable settlement of the matter so that staff could resume work for the good of the country.
