Queen Mother builds KG Block for Bekwai D/C Primary School

The Queen Mother of Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Area in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region, Nana Abena Aniwaa ll, has constructed a two- unit classroom block for the pupils of Sefwi Bekwai D/C Primary School.

The project, according to the queen mother was to ensure a conducive environment for teaching and learning.

The facility, which is worth thousands of Ghana cedis comprises of teachers staff common room, headmaster’s office among others.

Nana Aniwaa also donated tables and chairs, 32 inch flat screen colour television set and other teaching and learning materials.

HANDING OVER CEREMONY

At a short ceremony to hand over the keys to the facility through the District Education Directorate of Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekawi Municipality, Nana Abena Aniwaa ll, said the support was her contribution to the improvement of education within the traditional area.

He commended the government for its effort in bringing development to the country, and singled out the Free SHS policy as one of the interventions which has brought a lot of reliefs to most parents.


She was optimistic that with this facility Sefwi Bekwai is on course to produce more students to benefit from the Free SHS in a nearby future through construction of this KG Block.

She, however, appealed to parents and guardians within the enclave to take advantage of new facility to send their wards to school in order to guarantee them a brighter future.

EDUCATION DIRECTORATE

Mr Michael Awotwe Mensah, the Circuit Supervisor (CS) for Sefwi Bekwai Zone ‘B’, who received the keys to the facility, commended the queen mother for her kind gesture, and on behalf of the staff assured the queen mother of its maintenance to ensure that it lasted.


CHAIRMAN

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai, Mr Alfred Amoah who chaired the occasion, praised the queen mother for her foresight and numerous contributions to the Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Area aimed at uplifting the image of the area.

He tasked the school authorities to ensure regular maintenance of the facility so as to pave way for unborn generation to benefit.

He pleaded to chiefs in the traditional area, corporate institutions, parents to contribution their quota for renovation of the six unit class room for the school.
