In an exclusive interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the Municipal Chief Executive, Ocansey Moses Kabu Kubi, disclosed that government funds have already been released to support the project.

He explained that the Assembly is currently awaiting the submission of architectural designs before construction can commence.

Initially, a 4-acre parcel of land was allocated for the market, but through negotiation, the Assembly secured an expanded 8-acre plot. This expansion allows for the inclusion of additional facilities such as a lorry station and a veterinary clinic, which are expected to serve both traders and residents of the area.

Furthermore, the development plan includes essential community infrastructure such as a fire station, a police station, and a kindergarten, ensuring that the market area will cater comprehensively to the needs of the local population.

On the topic of revenue mobilization, the MCE revealed that the Assembly is actively putting plans in place to secure the market boundaries and improve revenue collection mechanisms, ensuring sustainable financial benefits for the municipality.

He concluded by emphasizing that the 24-hour economy market project is poised to create job opportunities and significantly improve the livelihoods of the people in Ga South Municipality.

The initiative reflects the Assembly’s commitment to fostering economic growth and community development through strategic projects that capitalize on the area's advantageous location
