TMA to hold MSNQ competition

Deliberations are currently ongoing between the Tema Metropolitan Assembly and the Ghana Education Service to introduce a new Quiz competition among Secondary Schools in Tema.

The Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Yohane Armah Ashitey, who spoke in an interview, said he was confident that the move will help boost the confidence levels of the candidates to excel in the upcoming national completion.



“Ridding on the back of the sterling performance by Chemu Secondary School in the Semi-final at the NSMQ last year, and, in my desire to improve educational performance in the metropolis, I have started engaging the metro directorate of Ghana Education Service to introduce Metroploitan Science and Maths Quiz (MSNQ) competition among Secondary Schools in Tema”

“With the current structures we are putting in place, it is my fervent hope that, a school from Tema would qualify for the grand finale of the NSMQ and ultimately win the competition, the MCE stated.



He also picked inspiration from Nelson Mandela’s popular quote “education is the most powerful weapon to change the world” and revealed that, his office is doing more to help improve teaching and learning level as well as overall student performances.
