FANTEAKWA: NADMO Presents items to flood victims
The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has presented items worth millions of Ghana Cedis to victims who lost their properties through a recent flood that hit the area.

The Items presented include roofing sheets rice, oil, rubber bucket and other household items.
Over 83 persons were displaced in the Fanteakwa Districts in the Eastern Region after a heavy the downpour.
Speaking in an interview, Fanteakwa NADMO district director, Rev. George Opoku Acheampong, noted that the items were presented to support and show commiseration to the victims for their losses. He noted that the items are also expected to help the victims reorganize their lives.
”It was recorded during our second quarter sensitization that some households were flooded and therefore we needed to console with them by giving them some items to dispatch some of their anguish”, he stated.
He said, the organization, as part of the prevention measures put in place to reduce flooding in the district, is set to sensitize residents who are living in flood prone areas to relocate themselves to avoid future occurrence.
On her part, district administrator of NADMO, Ernestina Serwaa Asiedu assured that her office was poised to sustain the sensitization programme and also organize periodic cleanup exercises clear chocked gutters to prevent floods.
