Making the presentation, Madam, Ophelia Amponsah Tabi, the District Coordinator of the Centre said the presentation formed part of the Centre’s effort towards poverty reduction in the District.
She said the start-up tools given the apprentice were also to enable them to setup their own carpentry shops to earn a living which would improve their living standards.
Madam, Mary Konneh, the District Chief Executive for Banda advised them to use the tools effectively to grow their businesses and to help create job opportunities for the unemployed in the District and urged them to make good use of the tools so that the money used to purchase the items would not go waste. “We will be visiting your shops to monitor your activities” she added.
The DCE said she is ready to support youth in the District to help setup their own businesses and that benefits would be extended to other people in different categories.
The beneficiaries expressed the joy and thanked the Centre and the Assembly for the support given them.
