The District Chief Executive, Felicia Ntiakwah Amissah believes that it is not enough to preach about economic improvement without providing the enabling conditions for economic activities to thrive, hence the decision to bring a police station closer to the people to ensure the residents go about their activities in peace.
She expressed delight that the initiative to build the police station was from the residents themselves, which means they will embrace it well and help the personnel to do their work effectively.
The DCE said the facility which is yet to be operationalised has already been inspected by the Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service and have recommended that some additional works been carried out which the assembly is working on.
She said Assin Ochiso is one of the areas with few security challenges including armed robbery, murder among others as such as soon as the necessary correctional works are completed the station would be commissioned and handed over for use.
