MCE urges communities to keep up hope for improved roads as work continues

For Madam Elizabeth Kaakie Mann, the Municipal Chef Executive for the Ga East, authorities are doing their best to ensure fair distribution of road projects across the various communities as can be seen by the people.

According to her since her assumption of office late 2021, the Assembly, through the effort of Government, the Member of Parliament, and through the resources of the Assembly, a number of road projects have been carried out with some completed and others ongoing.

Among these include the resealing of Abokobi Town roads, Taifa-Bankyease-Main Station-Obohene area inner roads, Taifa-Burkina-Bankyease inner roads, construction of a bridge to link Ga East and Ga North Municipalities at the Kristo Asafo Down, Taifa, ongoing road works at Pure Water, completed drainage construction along the Abokobi-Sesemi road through the Assembly’s office, among others.

“We have also carried out numerous reshaping works including the Abokobi-Teiman, Agbogba Cosway-Narhman road, sections of Haatso ECOMOG road, Pure Water-Ashongman Estate road, Adenkrebi road, and Agbogba Akatsi Abor road with Abokobi-Boi road soon to be worked on.

These notwithstanding, the MCE urged other communities to remain hopeful to receiving improved road networks are a lot of underground works are being done to bring the needed relief to them.

The MCE who was speaking at the second Town Hall Meeting for this year to render accounts of the Assembly’s stewardship of the resources entrusted into their care to the people at the grassroots, and offer a platform for the citizenry to contribute to the deliberations towards the development of the locality in particular and the nation at large, called on the citizenry to show more interest in opportunities like these.

The town hall meeting she stated has many times facilitated the deepening of democracy and increased citizen-participation in governance in line with the Section 40 of the Local Governance Act of 2016, (Act 936).
