The fertilisers were distributed to farmers from various farming communities through an initiative by the DCE, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture of the Afadzato South District Assembly.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, Hon. Tawiah said the intervention was aimed at improving soil fertility, increasing crop yields and reducing the financial burden on farmers associated with purchasing essential agricultural inputs.

He stressed that agriculture remained a critical pillar of the district's socio-economic development, noting that providing farmers with the necessary support was essential to increasing productivity and strengthening the local economy.

The DCE further explained that the provision of fertilisers would contribute to increased food production, improved household incomes, job creation and enhanced food security across the district.

The Department of Agriculture played a key role in coordinating the distribution to ensure that the fertilisers reached the targeted farmers.

Some beneficiary farmers expressed appreciation to Hon. Tawiah, President John Dramani Mahama and the Afadzato South District Assembly for the intervention, describing the support as timely and beneficial to their farming activities.

Hon. Tawiah reaffirmed his commitment to working with farmers and relevant stakeholders to strengthen the agricultural sector and position it as a major driver of economic growth and development in the district.
