The operation forms part of the Assembly’s ongoing decongestion programme, aimed at streamlining transport operations within the municipality.

The monitoring tour provided an opportunity for the team to directly engage with transport operators, drivers, and commuters—listening to their concerns while assessing compliance with the new directive on designated loading and offloading points.

During the interactions, Hon. Kusi and the team addressed several operational challenges raised by stakeholders and assured them of the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and orderly transition.

He called for full cooperation from all transport unions, stressing that the relocation plan is designed to improve traffic flow, enhance public safety, and create a more organized transport system.

This decongestion initiative forms part of the Birim Central Municipal Assembly’s broader development agenda to reduce congestion in key areas and improve the commuting experience for residents.

Hon. Kusi expressed his appreciation to the security agencies and transport unions for their support so far, adding that the Assembly will continue working closely with all stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the relocation programme
