He told ghanadistricts.com that he will not relent on the matter noting that, a serious probe must be taken to expose the criminals behind the smuggling.

The DCE noted that he, has no knowledge of the kia truck with registration number UW-29-12, which was sighted by some constituents transporting fertilizer from the District capital, Wechiua to Kulmasa in the Northern region for sales.

Hon. Laabiri Sabo narrated that ‘’the Assemblyman called me when I was away that, something is happening in Wechiua, whether I know what was going on, but I told him I was out of town.

He told me there were issues about our fertilizer in District capital, I immediately tasked him to investigate and report to me what was going on, but he did not tell me anything after our conversation, quickly, I set up my own team I trust, one Mr. Stephen and . Ahmed to go there, I authorized them to go and be with the Agric extension agent at the warehouse so that they can report to me what was going on. As of the time they got there, nothing was happening again’’ he stated.

The DCE said he was later told two days after he stationed his trusted team at the depository that, the warehouse was broke into, but he too could not ascertained the number of bags of fertilizer stolen from the warehouse after the break through. “ When they went there nothing happens until two days later I was told the warehouse was broke into, but currently we don’t know the number of fertilizers stolen from the ware house’’ he indicated.

However, the DCE has stated vigorously that a serious probe will be conducted and the perpetrators will face the full rigor of the law. “We are going to investigate the matter and the care taker and all those involve will not be left of the hook” he fumed.
