100 houses destroyed, 800 people displaced

More than 100 houses have been destroyed and about 800 people displaced in the Amansie West district in the Ashanti Region, following continues rainfalls in the district.

In an interview with the District Chief Executive, Mr. William Bediako Asante emphasized that,  more roads are been flooded as more passengers and vehicles are unable to move, while at Manso Nkwanta 6 houses and 4 containers shops were also destroyed.

 

 

Mr Bediako mentioned several communities including Manso Koniase, Dadease Datano, Manso Agroyesum, and Manso Mim have been seriously affected, adding that in some instances patients that have been discharged at the hospital were unable to go to their home towns.

 

 

Mr. Bediako Asante and officials from the District NADMO office who visited the affected areas  consoled and assured victims of the flooding that the message would be sent to the Regional Minister as soon as possible and he further appealed to the inhabitants in the affected areas to find a place for all the affected people to put their heads.

 

 

The DCE stressed that, this is unfortunate situation cause by nature and appealed to all the affected peoples to exercise restraint as the Government would come to their aid.
