He garnered 28 votes out of 36 representing 78% of the total valid votes cast.

The declaration of the result by officials of the Electoral Commission (EC) was greeted with jubilation dancing by supporters including some assembly members who were in support of his nomination.

The Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed sworn the newly elected DCE Musah Issah into office thanked the good people of Gusheigu for their cooperation and urged them to live in harmony.

On his part, Mr. Musah Issah, who could not hide his exhilaration when he took his turn to address the assembly after his successful confirmation, thanked the assembly members for reposing their trust in him to take-up the position as DCE for the area.

He therefore pledged his commitment to foster unity among members of the assembly, adding that he will welcome constructive criticism from members irrespective of one’s political affiliation.

The DCE also called for all hands on deck to help bring total development to the area.
