Kyebi Gov’t Hospital to get new doctors bungalows

Officials from Ghana Gas Company have performed a sod-cutting ceremony to pave the way for the construction of two separate 3-bedroom doctors’ bungalows for the Kyebi Government Hospital in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The project aims at improving the current accommodation issue in the Municipality.

Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony, Edomgbole Nwiah Anyimah, Deputy Project Manager for Ghana Gas, assured the people that the contractor will work tirelessly to complete the project on time.

He charged the contractor to finish the project on time but should also ensure value for money.


Also speaking on behalf of the Okyenhene, Nana Asiaa Benneh Beyeemah I, Guantuahemaa for Akyem Abuakwa and a Board Member for Ghana Gas said that the construction of the doctor’s bungalow will help improve the current accommodation conditions and attract more medical officers to the area.

She therefore expressed her appreciation to Ghana Gas for the project.

The Hospitals’ Administrator, Mr Divine Nartey, stated that medical officers are still struggling with accommodation which is making their work difficult.


He however, added that despite the difficulties personnel have dedicated themselves to duty.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Abuakwa South, Akosua Asabea Annoh, on her part, stated that quality healthcare is based on the dignity and respect society accords to healthcare personnel, as well as the availability of their needs, and that lack of accommodation has been a hindrance to quality healthcare in the municipality.

She believes that providing doctors' flats will help reduce the accommodation challenges and also ensure quality healthcare for the people.
