Ketu South NHIS adjudged regional best

The National Health Insurance Scheme in the Ketu South Municipality is targeting 85,000 membership by the close of this year.

This follows a remarkable performance last year having been adjudged the best out of the 16 scheme offices in the Volta region beating stiff opposition from Kpando and Ho both of which also secured more than 70 percent as revealed at the mid-year review.

The Ketu South Municipal Scheme secured 77 percent after assessing performances in some selected thematic areas including  

1.  Governance system;
2. Monitoring and evaluation (including claims management), thus claims from the hospital. The response from the scheme to the people;                        
3. Stakeholder engagement thus meeting with the media using some NGOs, contact persons, assembly members to sensitize the public;                        
4. Active membership; and                        
5. Premium mobilization

 

 

The Ketu South Municipal Scheme Manager, Mr. Erik Kwame Afenyo speaking to Ghanadistricts.com after the review meeting disclosed that “Innovative strategies will be deployed to ensure we do better than we did last year. Also, listening and addressing concerns of the public will enhance and improve quality of care".

 

 

He expressed delight that they have been able to perform well in all the areas assessed and indicated that this will encourage them to up their game and meet their target of 85,000 from last year’s active membership of 78,355.
