BIRIM S: Assembly distributes dual desk to communities
The Birim South District Assembly in the Eastern corridor of Ghana has with funding from its share of the common fund procured and distributed 1500 dual desks to Akiss Aprade and some basic schools in the community.

The District Chief Executive for the area, Richmond Amposah told Ghanadistricts.com in an interview that, the move was in fulfillment of the assembly’s effort to ensure that all basic schools within the district are provided with infrastructure to enhance teaching and learning.
He further said the desks will help reduce congestions associated with inadequate desks in classrooms and this will enable them have friendly environment for learning, adding that plans and provisions have been made to support students with other essential logistics, as well as see to the needs of teachers who are in the heart of the learning process particularly the provision of accommodation.
These efforts by the assembly, she noted is aimed at improving the standard of teaching and learning in the area and ensuring that there is easy accessibility to quality education.
Mr. Amposah advised the teachers to take very good care of the items and said the assembly is working tirelessly to transform the district and in view of that has allocated schools that are lacking infrastructure for attention.
