Achiase District Assembly celebrates Farmers’ Day

The Achiase District has celebrated and rewarded 20 farmers in the district for their outstanding performances and their massive contributions to the development of the District at Akim Osorase.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) Mr. Richmond Amposah lauded the farmers for their hard work and said the Assembly is working to attract more investors into the agricultural sector to enable the farmers to reap the best out of their toils.

He also commended farmers for accepting the Planting for Food and Jobs and the Rearing for Food and Jobs program to produce a bumper harvest and export food to various countries and appealed to them to give even greater support to other policies in agriculture.

Mr. Amponsah then advised the youth to venture into agriculture since it offers great opportunities for success.

Mr. Guagrine Abraham the district's best farmer and other categories of award winners included best youth farmer, best physically challenged farmer, best woman farmer, best nontraditional farmer were Recognized and honored with appreciable prizes.
