The initiative aims at tackling health delivery issues of the community which has been a major challenge.

Mr. Owusu-Gyimah said the CHPS compound, when completed, would provide a range of essential health services including maternal care, immunisation and health education to the improvement of the overall wellbeing of the people.

He emphasised the government's commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery in underserved areas.

The MCE said the project was part of the Gulf of Guinea Northern Regions Social Cohesion Project (SOCO) to ensure healthcare services, regardless of its geographical location.

He also noted that the construction of the CHPS compound was expected to create job opportunities for the youth both during the building phase and once the facility became operational.

Mr. Owusu-Gyimah urged the community members to support the contractor by contributing their quota to ensure the completion of the project on schedule.

Mr. Daniel Bunya, the Assembly member of the Area and the leaders of the community, expressed their gratitude for the initiative and highlighted the positive impact it would have on their lives.

"We have waited for this day for so long because access to healthcare is a basic human right and we are thankful that our voices have finally been heard".
