The people after years of enduring difficulties in accessing health delivery decided to take an initiative of providing one for themselves through a self-help project which they started.

But looking at the cost involved, the Municipal Assembly realizing the positive attitude the people have shown towards addressing their own challenges decided to step in after the community had just laid few blocks.

Not only had the assembly completed the project, but it expanded it and added more facilities to including additional rooms, two unit accommodation for the midwife and nurse.

Mr. James Atta Kakra Baidoe, Municipal Chief Executive noted that good health is very important for people to contribute meaningfully towards national development and the government and assembly is fully committed to ensuring that people are not deprived from access to health facilities because of their location.

It is for this reason that the government is seriously making good its plan to bring health care to the doorstep of residents especially those in deprived communities with the construction of community-based planning and service (CHPS) centres.

Meanwhile, the MCE said electricity would be connected to the facility later but noted that water is already available to get the facility running when commissioned.
