Chief calls for upgrade of Kandiga Community SHS

The Paramount chief of the Mirigu Traditional Area, Naba Anthony Abisa Anonsona Atasige III, has therefore appealed to Government to upgrade the Community SHS in the community.

He said, The Kandiga Community Senior High School is over five years and still remains a Community Day School, Naba Anthony Abisa Anonsona Atasige III, the Paramount Chief of the Mirigu Traditional Area has said

Naba Atasige III made the appeal at a durbar of Chiefs and people of the Mirigu Traditional Area in the Chiana-Paga in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region in honour of Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia who is on a three-day campaign tour of the Region.

“The school has no means of transport, they use motor tricycles as their official means of transport to perform managerial duties,” Atasige III added.

He commended the government for the Free Senior High School policy, saying “The implementation of the Free-SHS policy enabled the Mirigu and Nabango SHSs to increase their enrolment and many Junior High School graduates are benefiting from it today.”

He called for the absorption of the Mirigu SHS into boarding status, as its status as a day school hindered the academic progress of students, and thanked the government for providing the Nabango Senior High Technical School with a bus for school activities.

He, therefore, appealed to the government to absorb the school into the public system to pave way for academic work to progress
