AMANSIE W: PIAC engages stakeholders

The public interest and accountability committee, PIAC has organized a stakeholders’ engagement at Manso Nkwanta for Heads of Departments, Assemblies, Christians, Muslims and chiefs.

Speaking at the meeting the District Chief Executive for Amansie West Mr. Alex Kwame Bonsu said the public interest and accountability committee is an independent bodies formed by the law and their aimed is to evaluate compliance of revenue management of the country’s petroleum revenue in line with development priorities.

He asked the participants to come out with their views on the country's oil and gas issues.

The members comprises of the Ghana Journalist Association, Ghana Bar Association, Trade union Congress, Traditional Authorities, Christians community and Muslims communities.

He said the priorities areas for selection of projects are Agriculture, industries, science and Technology potable water infrastructure, others are Rehabilitation, upgrading, bitumen and sufficing.

The participants at the end of the workshops thanked the public interest and Accountability committee for organizing this all important workshops to updates their minds on this national issues and promised to educate others on this topics which they said is of the national interest.

The also appealed the committee to embark on the nationwide public education campaign throughout the country to keep the public abreast with oil and gas issues.
