Govinakrom residents lament over deplorable road network

Farmers of Govinakrom in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region are calling on the government to help construct the road linking communities in the area to Teacher Mante to enable them transport their harvest to various market centres.

According to them, the over 4km deplorable road makes it difficult for the farmers in the various communities such as Govinakrom, Domeabra, Amponsahene, Abodzi, Afatsawo, Dedewa Abrodiem and other neighboring communities to transport their farm produce to market centres.

They say the situation has compelled them to rely solely on motor bikes to their farm produce to various market centres

The situation, they added, gets worse whenever it rains and for this reason, they are calling on the government to as a matter of urgency intervene to get the roads constructed on time to save them from the usual post-harvest losses.

Barima Govina Kwakuvi ll, the Chief of Govinakrom on his part bemoaned the situation where pregnant women in labour had to be transported on motorbikes to hospitals to deliver.

He therefore called on the government to construct the road to help save lives.
