Inauguration of a three Unit Classroom Block at Sarfokrom, Akyeremade and Anwiam-Amerase Community

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Bekwai Municipal Assembly, Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour and Municipal Education Director commissioned a three-unit classroom block with an office and toilet facilities for teachers and pupils of three communities (Sarfokrom, Akyeremade and Awiam-Amerase) in the Bekwai municipality on 23rd and 24th March, 2021. The classroom block is in replacement of an existing dilapidated one.

The facilities were commissioned by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour. The MCE disclosed that, the project is in line with the Government’s commitment towards improving quality education in the rural communities as there is in the bigger cities.

The MCE Hon. Kwaku Kyei Baffour, said “he who opens a school, closes a prison gate’’.

Also witnessing the commissioning was the Municipal Education Director, Madam Leticia Obeng, Traditional Council Representatives of Sarfokrom, Akyeremade and Awiam-Amerase, Nana Osei Britwum and Nana Karikari Boakye, Co-odinating Director for Bekwai Municipal Assembly, Mr. Adu-Asamoah and the Municipal Engineer Mr. Ahmed Abubakar Siddiq. The representative from the Traditional Council commended both the Assembly and the Government for timely response to their needs and also made request for computers, extension of electricity to the school, speed rumbs and another classroom block.

The Chief Executive urged the communities to make maximum use of the facilities. He further assured them that, their request would be attended to in the nearest future especially electrification of the school to enhance quality teaching and learning environment. He advised the communities to also take good care of the facilities given to them. He also advised parents to always keep their children neat when going to school.

For her part, the Municipal Education Director called on all parents to check child delinquency by sending their wards to school which would eventually be a benefit to the children, the families and the societies as a whole.
